Due to his chemotherapy his immune system was compromised and was unable to fight an infection of necrotizing fasciitis, a fast growing bacteria. Jon was extremely dedicated to the rowing club, as a rower and a board member. He has held the positions of Men's team captain, Vice-President, and President. In these positions he has been able to greatly influence the team in very positive ways. His impact on the team will never be forgotten. Jon was a great athlete, student, and person.
