The team returned from its last fall regatta Saturday night after a successful day on the Occoquan resevoir in Virginia. CMU had a massive contigent with 60 competing team members and support from alumni and parents. Both the Lightweight Men's and Women's boats medaled - completing a season in which the team returned from every race with hardware. Our novice team also competed in its second regatta fielding a men's and women's eight and a women's four. Congratulations to all of them!

Now the novice team will prepare for its final race (Car-Du-Pitt on 11/8) while the Varsity team gears up for winter training.

End of Term Tidbits Mon 12/08/03

Team members have been busy wrapping up the semester with school work, but have also been having some fun with the team. Thursday night we had a holiday potluck and heard senior wills from three team members. Also in the past few weeks, we have spent a huge amount of time renovating our erg room (complete with 6 new Model Ds and 12 Model Cs) and our novices even spent a few nights on the cut with the fence painted.

Lastly, we had many team members compete in a biathlon (10k erg/10k run) Sunday with Central Catholic High School. More to come on that later.

 Biathlon Results Tue 12/16/03

On Sunday, the team displayed our hard work in a biathlon run by Central Catholic High School. After having our own practice biathlon before Thanksgiving, we were prepared and competed well even without the top two finishers from the practice event. On the men's side, Gary Feigenbaum placed second behind the Central Catholic coach with a time of 1:21:43 (10k erging/6 mile run). For the women, Audria Stubna won the event with a time of 1:26:50 (7.5k erging/6 mile run).
